What does health wealth and relationships have to do with kenaf? That is not some AI hallucination! Our mission statement is: We help farmers increase profits and improve soil quality by growing kenaf the new rotational crop for corn, soy and cotton farmers.
Improving soil health, improves the health of plants, the farmer, people, animals, water... Just by growing kenaf, reducing toxic chemicals contributes to soil life and health.
One definition of wealth is "a plentiful supply of a particular desirable thing". And a plentiful supply of all things related to kenaf and the industries it serves is what we're here for.
Relationships between all stakeholders in the kenaf industry needs to be forged with the true "American Spirit" like our forefathers, the bold and hard-working pioneers.
Today we have the means to connect farmers, entrepreneurs, investors and manufacturers in the kenaf supply chain who maintain our standards of a regenerative community.
SEED In order to provide each of our participants in the kenaf supply chain, we need predictable and cost-effective supply of kenaf seed, and this requires a new approach to providing this in quantities that can be provided on demand in a short amount of time.
To make this happen, I will be raising the funds by providing promotional products, that will cover the costs of the R&D needed and document the protocols that get the predictable results. This is also the branding stage for Kenaf Partners United States as well as bringing about awareness of kenaf and the various industries it can serve.
LOI Letters of Intent. Before corn, soy or cotton farmers can decide to grow kenaf as a rotational cash crop, they will need to know it can be sold at a profit. The buyers/manufacturers of fiber or hurd will set the quantity and quality specifications along with scheduled delivery times. We anticipate the quantity required can be more than one farmer can provide. Matching local buyers with local farmers will be a key and valuable service to both. Ideally local means within a 50-mile radius between the farmer and buyer.
Customized Solutions for each Farmer Increased profits is what farmers have been wanting and each farmer has their own way of doing their farming business. This is where we dig in and take a good look from each farmers perspective with in-depth series of questions. We don't go in assuming we know what the farmer needs, and it may require multiple local farmers to meet the requirements of the buyers with the different resources other local farmers have. The focus is on planting seed, harvesting, soil health. crop rotation optimization, flood and drought challenges, input requirements, profit/acre to name a few.
Processing After Harvest This maybe an additional step that may be needed on a local level. It all depends on who the pioneer is that steps up to the plate first that will determine whether processing is need or not. If the farmer steps up to the plate first, the Customized Solution goes into play for the farmer. We now know what the farmer can deliver and go to work to find a local buyer that matches the farmers deliverable product(s). If the buyer/manufacturer steps up to the plate first, a processing facility may be required, and finding the entrepreneurs and investors to provide the specific processing results locally is pursued. There are many types of processing equipment needed to meet specific requirements of buyer/manufacturers and industries. What is taken into account in either case is a contract for both fiber and hurd, to maximize profit for the farmer.
Distribution is something that needs to be addressed if needed by either the farmer, processor or buyer/manufacturer.
Storage In some cases storage will be needed. For example, let's say a buyer/manufacturer needs 1 million pounds of fiber delivered each month of the year and another buyer/manufacturer needs 1 million pounds of hurd delivered every other month except December, then a local facility will be needed to store the kenaf harvest for the scheduled deliveries. Capitalizing on the storage space for kenaf seed for the following years planting for the local farmers can be incorporated.
The first part of the project is focused on seed quantity and quality for fiber and hurd planting as the first use for industries. Consistent traits and high germination rates at market prices is the first priority. Early, Medium and Late maturing varieties have been chosen as requested by farmers at different growing latitudes. Our medium maturing variety "Whitten" is our most popular variety and the one we are starting with. Small testing plots and seed harvesting for the early and late maturing varieties needs to be done before we make these available should they prove to be good fiber and hurd yields. If you are an experienced farmer in the US, you may be suited for this project and have the opportunity to profit from seed sales. Contact Bob with your request for consideration.
Once the kenaf seed supply is trending to meet the demands for fiber and hurd, the second use of kenaf seed comes into play.
Kenaf Seed Oil for biofuels, cooking oil, paints, wood treatment, cosmetics...
Kenaf Seed Shell (what is left over from pressing the oil from the seed) milled for meal that can be used in granola bars etc..
Kenaf Seed Meal can be ground further as a flour mix for making bread with high nutrient content with natural preservative qualities.
